Stormy
Expecting rain, we slept in. We spent a lot of the day watching the lightning over Murano and people loosing their umbrellas below our window. This apartment is amazingly quiet though. Neither the boat sounds nor the people sounds bother us at all.
In the late morning there was a break in the weather so we set out for a walk. We did a lot of “Campo sitting” our sport of choice this trip. First stop, Campo Santa Maria Novo and then Giovanni & Paolo. It’s nice to really take in the people and the buildings. We had some coffee at Bar Colleoni and walked back to Strada Nova. The Billa is no more–they apparently pulled all of their stores out of Italy so the big super market on Strada Nova is now a Conad. We went in there and got a bunch of stuff including a bottle of red wine which somehow fell out of Ken’s back pack and crashed in the street on our way home. Disastro! By the time we got back to the apartment it was raining again. I got these shots on the morning walk and of a fascinating, Free art show right next to the Conad.
We spent the afternoon eating lunch, reading and watching the storm. “Needing” to replace the wine, we made a quick run to the COOP just before dinner which we cooked in the apartment.
I can’t seen to write anything below these pictures??
We figured out how to watch Game of Thrones on my lap top so that was our activity for the night.
Jan, between your blogging and Amy’s I feel I am right there in Venice with you. Following you with such joy. Look forward to your daily pists. Grazie mille
Isn’t great when you can adjust and spend time relaxing when the weather changes. You made it an enjoyable day.
