Arrivederci Venezia
Our last day. 🙁
Very high water, up to 155 was predicted for noon time so we went out fairly early for a short walk around our little neighborhood.
Puppa was closed with plenty of water on the calle so we went into the breakfast area for We Crociferi. They have really done a beautiful job restoring that building.
Watching the water rise and packing took up most of the day. Also, we started watching Homeland from the beginning and have watched 3 in 2 days.
In the evening we went our for another walk, over the bridges on Fondamenta Nove where many photographers were snapping this shot of San Michele and the pink sky.
Up to Giovanni e Paolo and down the street with the red house back around to Santa Maria Nova, Mindy’s street and finally the Puppa where we had a nice spritz, “to Venice” and a chat with our buddy Masood, the owner.
Came back and started prepping for dinner when Elisa came for a visit. She is truly one of a kind, a gem and now a friend.
Final packing because we leave early.
I am sad to leave Venice but adventure awaits!
Arrivederci means we see each other again. And I am sure we will
Che bella giornata, Jan. Thanks for giving us this historic look at Venezia during the Aqua Alta/ Acqua Grande.
Not sure if I commented on this r not, but I felt such pangs of separation. We usually did Venice last ecause nothing was ever as wonderful for me. Gorgeous photos – loved your arti Vader I!
