Art-full Day
After a slow start, we had a plan: finish seeing the shows at Palazzo Bembo and at Palazzo Mora. We saw about three quarters of both of these when we felt we’d had enough and bailed. Walking over to San Marco for Bembo, we ran into Elisa and had a nice chat with her in front of the Gesuiti church. Also in the same building, Palazzo Bembo, we discovered another small show in addition to the Biennale, called Anima Mundi. I tried to ask the attendant a question in Italian but she didn’t speak Italian; she is from Turkey and speaks enough English, but it was funny for a while.
To be honest, I have all of these three shows mixed up in my memories so I am just posting a few of these photos. Some of my favorites would not necessarily photograph well enough because of lighting but these below all held my interest:
This is just a tiny sample of the works we saw. At Mora there were a few rooms with just NFT works–and a room full of cacao beans and pods and a machine dipping a slottled spoon into liquid chocolate.
To keep our heads moderately straight, we took a break and came home for lunch and a rest. I took a long nap before we headed out for round two.
We stopped at the chef supply store and I got another, more practical apron to take home. The one I got in Rome is fancy-ish and now full of stains.
For dinner we had some great stuff from Bisiol and some cabbage I cooked. My favorite things were little muffin sized things like frittata. One was potato and one artichoke. She called them tortino/i.
My lilies are nearing their end but here you go:
That man at the bottom of the ocean seems so haunting!!
I like the art of your lily!
