Day 1
Not so bad, really. Maybe it will get worse, but we had a good day.
Texting with our host Sarah (I really don’t like “landlord” and these folks are treating us like guests, so “host,” though we both think we would become fast friends were we able to spend some time together), I learned that she does a zoom Pilates class in the morning and she gave me the info so I could join it. I did a class in Italy, taught by a British woman in Hong Kong. This world! Anyway, it was a really challenging and different class than what we normally do and it made my day.
Sarah and Tom brought us a bunch of groceries, as per a list I put together which included wine, and I made us a huge pot of chicken vegetable soup.
We read and watched stuff on my computer. We got Express VPN so we can watch a few more things.
It rained lightly in the afternoon.
We watched the light change on the mountains, and the pigeons playing on the red roof next door.
I found these two night shots I took walking home from the restaurant the other night so here’s a little entertainment.
when I grow up, I wanna be just like you
Yay for Sarah and a big pot of soup. This is all part of living like a local, my favourite way to travel. Just having an ordinary day (even if it’s actually extraordinary) the way things go at home sometimes. I hope you at least have a nice view – post some views from your window. It’s just nice to be somewhere else. Keep feeling OK!
There you go, we all know chicken soup will help anything. Sorry this is part of your adventure.
I don’t think any of my comments are posted because on my iPad the post comment is so light I never saw it!
My dear friend who has covid very badly is taking Paxlovid, the anti viral developed by Phizer. She took it yesterday two times and her turn around is so impressive. You may not need it, just an FYI.
I love you both. J
