Negative! YAY!
Ken felt superstitious about our testing this morning, and thought we should wait until after we showered to wash off any residual virus from the prior day. We did and it worked! We both tested negative and were so glad.
The market here in Sulmona seems to attract just about the whole 25K population! The streets were lively and there were many shoppers at Piazza Garibaldi. I took a bunch of snapshots so here you go:
There were also lots of clothing, kitchen wares, cheese, bread, salumi, and pretty strawberries, which I meant to go back for but forgot.
Many people are still wearing masks outside, including us.
After a thorough perusal, we went for a walk through the neighborhood beyond the piazza and returned to get porchetta panini at one of the two very crowded spots. We had to take a number. We were 68 and when we began waiting they were on 41 but it moved pretty quickly.
Walking back to the apartment I saw this guy come out of his shop to drink from the town fountain:
We came home for a late lunch of our just OK sandwiches (not as good as the Roman ones, for sure) and a rest. Both of us feel pretty low energy. We never left the apartment in the afternoon.
I threw all of our leftovers into a pot for dinner. Whatever it was, we enjoyed it. Tomorrow we move to a different apartment for 2 more nights to recover our stamina and our travel ju ju.
So happy for you. Take it easy for a few days. You may find you are rather tired.
Wonderful news! Looking forward to your continued adventures.
In the words of the Eagles, I hope you guys take it eeeeaaaasssyyyy…
I’m so glad you two are on the mend!
