Rain Rain Go Away
Easter Sunday. The town was so quiet. The food tour guide told us that family Easter meals are for brunch, not dinner, so there were only us few tourists out and about today. We were headed for Tivoli Park, but while we were stopped at Congress Square, it started raining. This building in the square provides the administrative offices for University of Ljubljana.
We hung out there for a little while and finally decided to go back to the apartment to avoid getting soaked. On the way home, the rain stopped so we walked up part of the way to the castle but it started again. Here’s Ken taking in the view with his Miami Dolphins hat:
On our street was a bit of a scene– a photographer, two models, and a coach trying to get the shot before the rain. You can see how quiet the streets were,
In the afternoon the sun peaked out for a moment and we bundled up to head in the other direction, to the botanical gardens. We got a couple of blocks away and noticed a big black cloud heading in our direction so we turned around. I guess this was meant to be a day to just stay in and relax so, that’s what we did.
I cooked a nice dinner–pasta with Romanesco Broccoli, asparagus and (decidedly not Italian) sausage.
After dinner we went for one more short walk, to the candy store and each got a bag of various treats.
Sorry for the boring post, but some days are like that…even in Ljubljana.
It has rained a lot since I’ve been in Rome and rain is predicted for most of the time I’m in Florence. But it looks like clear skies in Cinque Terre thankfully because I’ll be spending most of my time outdoors there.
