Returning to Italy
We had an 11:00 am pick up scheduled for the GoOpti bus. So we got all ready and went out to take the various bags of garbage to the street containers. Oosem bakery has amazing breads, we could smell the yeasty smell half way down the street. We went in there and got some breakfast treats.
The 3 hour ride to Venice went smoothly. We got off at Piazzale Roma and took the 4.2 vap to meet Elisa at Fondamente Nove. Big hugs all around and we were checked in. At the same time a threesome from Australia was checking in across the hall so it was quick. After they were settled, Elisa came back here for an extended visit. She is such a character and wonderful! I had asked her if we could use the carello/little shopping cart. She said yes said she would unlock the storage room downstairs where she keeps it. When we opened the door to leave for our shopping trip, there it was! Also she had left our refrigerator full of treats–rice salad, fabulous cooked spinach, a huge fruit salad and some tomato sauce.
We took a little walk–got some cash from the bancomat, and headed for the Coop.
Walking home (and it really does feel like home) from there we saw Masood from the Puppa Bar and he came out to welcome us back to the neighborhood.
Here’s a shot of Ken rolling the carello:
We noticed the someone must have had a new baby girl:
We came back and when I opened my computer I saw the zoom invitation for Pilates class. I put a blanket on the floor in the living room and I was set. My body really needed it and it was great to see home friends for a minute.
We find ourselves standing at the front windows, just staring out at the fantastic view, elated to be here and feeling grateful.
This makes me so happy! Welcome home!
I love the view from your front windows.
