It took us a long time to get out of the apartment because neither the heat nor the hot water were working, and I had a long messaging session, including sending videos of the thermostat and the boiler, with the host. Finally resolved, we could proceed.
We stopped for a coffee and went to the grocery store. On the way back, we saw these guys drilling way high up on a wall. What are they doing?
And we walked through this lovely, Piazza San Grazziano.
After a quick stop to put away our very limited groceries, we walked down to the lake and made a right. Ken took this of me at a view spot:
We walked for about 40 minutes and found a park and watched the birds for a while. There were two big white swans, ducks and these birds that looked just like the anhingas in Florida, maybe some kind of cormorant.
Only the ivy is really changing color around here. The trees are still mostly green.
Heading back towards town, we stopped at the little park on the lake, watching the dogs and their people.
We stopped for panini in a bakery we had seen in the morning. I wasn’t sure if we were on the right street so I stopped a man and asked him. He pointed to the paper bag in his hand, and then to the white awning half a block away. He had just left there. We took home some bread and sweets for dinner, too.
One more walk after rest time, this time much shorter but still satisfying. This is a pretty town but the lake is the star of the show.
We had what I though would be a light salad dinner but after the bread and pastries: full again! We drank Bonarda wine from the grocery store. The fizzy, fruity, red wine was perfect for our before, during, and after meal.
What a nice day! Just what the doctor ordered.
