Arrivederci Amiche
Vicki caught the 6:30am boat to the airport and we walked Donna to the train station (Ken lovingly carried her suitcase) at 10:00.
We were back to being flâneurs. We crossed over the Scalzi bridge and wandered a bit in Santa Croce. I began a purse search which has yet to produce a result. We stopped into the courtyard at San Giovanni Evangelista and I got there shots:
Coffee was next and I really do not remember where we were, but this was nearby:
Passed by the Frari and got this Robert Mayer-inspired shot:
And headed towards the Mauro bakery before crossing the Rialto bridge to find the Pelletteria Veneto shop where Donna got her new purse. You see, this purse thing is not an original idea.
We had enough time to make it to Bisiol for lunch supplies, and I took this shot of the maestro of butchery:
Our lunch of prosciutto, marinated peppers and fresh bread was great.
After rest time we walked over towards Giovanni e Paolo where there was a race beginning, and kept going to find some other leather shops. My conclusion, so far, is that I cannot afford what I like. Most of the ones that I would like to get are €200–300, and that’s just too much for me for a purse. For me, the shopping is the fun, the purchase not so important. But I did get this laundry shot at Campo Santa Marina:
Elisa made us a delicious bean soup, and with the rest of our bread we had a very satisfying dinner.
We watched Wolfs with George Clooney and Brad Pitt. They were fun to watch, but I can’t say I would recommend it.
Thing are much quieter here without our buddies.
Have you tried Il Grifone for a purse? He’s at Fondamenta del Gaffaro n.3516 His shop smells so good. 🙂
