A Little Disappointment in Dorsoduro
By the time we get out the door I am dying for coffee but we made it all the way to Bar Tiziano before we stopped. Our goal was to visit the Punta della Dogana, one of the Pinault museums which we love. We had a lovely walk through the familiar calles and campos. Stopped at the little gallery of Matteo Lo Greco to see his sculpture work:
The top of the Accademia Bridge always make me sigh with pleasure. Even though the sky was hazy and the light pretty flat I had to snap a quick photo:
We went left at the bottom of the bridge passing the galleries and shops of Dorsoduro and finally made it to the museum. Closed! Both this and the Palazzo Grassi (my two favorites) are closed until the end of the month and we will have moved on. Oh well. Instead, we decided to visit the Santa Maria Salute church. There were some school groups on the steps out front and I have the sense that Venice is starting to become more populated with tourists. I lit a candle for our messy world. Interesting because this church was specifically built in the late 1600’s, to thank the Virgin Mary for delivering the city from the “Black Death”, the plague. A metaphor if I ever thought of one. This chapel had the perfect light right on the top:
We hung around outside for a while appreciating the air and the view:
Walking back I enjoyed the windows and doors at the Fortuny shop:
We came back home, stopping for a few cookies at Ballarin and had the very last of our leftovers at home.
After our rest time we had a nice walk around Cannaregio.
For dinner I made us scrambled eggs with the rest of the prosciutto–pretty good!
The lilies are starting to open:
And we watched Survivor, a guilty pleasure.

I love your photos and hearing about your day! I watched survivor too sadly not while living in Venice!
Having been there with y’all makes reading your blog all the more special! I kind of love gray Venezia.
Oh so lovely to be there again. Enjoy every moment!
