Blue Skies
I could tell as soon as I woke up that it was going to be a beautiful day:
My friend Amy, a mosaic artist and renowned slow traveler, sent me a flyer for an exhibit called Facè Arts on via Garibaldi, so we took off for there. Winding through the Castello streets we often get a little lost (a Venetian pleasure), but when we saw this wall we knew we were on the right path:
From there we headed for the lagoon to breathe that special air and take in the view:
We strolled down Via Garibaldi until we found the show. Representing 30 artists, mostly Italian but from around the world, Facè Arts is a huge variety of styles. The were a lot of works I really liked, but only one I loved. It was, ironically, a mosaic:

Afterwards we walked into the Giardini and sat and watched the turtles under the Garibaldi statue. We headed back to our neighborhood and stopped for lunch at Ai Promessi Sposi. I’ve been jonesing for some fried seafood since we arrived, so it was La Frittura for me. Ken had a play on pasta Amatriciana with smoked shrimp and scallops. We enjoyed sitting in the front room watching the people come and go at the bar.
After a visit to the Coop, we came home for a nice rest.
For the evening, Elisa had told us about a free choral concert rehearsal and I told Nan. We thought it was at the Frari church, but we were wrong. Looking for information on where it was we walked into the dark church–so gorgeous!
It was a bit of fiasco finding the place, but we did only because Nan went to the venue and sent me a pin on my phone. The concert was kind of a Venetian take on Gospel music. We both really loved it!
Afterward, we went for a quick glass of wine with Nan and her rowing friend Pauline and then we made our way home.
Still full from lunch, I never ate dinner but Ken had a healthy snack of salami and peas.
We made nearly 20K steps today. My knees are well aware!
We watched The Pitt (love that show!) And like Ken said: Another beautiful day in the neighborhood.

Was the choral group the Joy Singers by any chance? If so, aren’t they wonderful?
